Specificity: This antibody is specific to a 52 kDa intermediate filament protein in brain and spinal cord. It stains astrocytes and CNS ependymal cells but does not stain oligodendrocytes or neurons. This antibody does not cross-react with any other intermediate filament proteins. However, it cross-reacts with GFAP from mouse and rabbit.
