INVIMAG VIRUS DNA/RNA MINI KIT/ KFML

Overview

The InviMag® Virus DNA/RNA Mini Kit/ KFmL is designed for reliable simultaneous isolation of high quality viral DNA and RNA from a diverse range of clinical samples, using the RTP®technology and magnetic beads. The kit is designed for semi-automated preparation on the KingFisher mL workstation. Up to 15 samples in parallel can be processed.

Workflow

For different clinical samples the InviMag Virus DNA/RNA Mini Kit/ KFmL includes protocols adapted to various starting materials. Samples are lysed using two different incubation temperatures in the Extraction Tube to increase the sensitivity, followed by binding of the viral nucleic acids to the magnetic beads, washing steps and the final elution. The procedure requires minimal interaction by the user, allowing safe handling of potentially infectious samples. The isolated viral RNA and/or DNA is ready to use for subsequent downstream applications:

• RT-PCR
• PCR
• Real-time PCR (quantitative RT-PCR, like TaqMan and LightCycler technologies)
