CellPath Papanicolaou Harris Haematoxylin is specially formulated for staining cytological preparations. The mercury free stain is acidified to give a well-oxidised haematoxylin solution that provides excellent nuclear detail and differentiation.

Laboratories that prefer a darker nuclear stain should use CellPath Haematoxylin Z that requires no filtration, similar in many respects to Gills.
CellPath Papanicolaou EA50 and OG6 counter stains are high quality stains originally perfected by Dr George Papanicolaou. The EA50 formulation was recommended in his Atlas of Exfoliative Cytology published in 1954 and is still renowned for its superior delicate translucency.

CellPath Papanicolaou EA50 continues to incorporate Light green SF, Bismarck brown and Eosin dyes as described by Papanicolaou.

CellPath EA50M was formulated for pathologists who prefer a more intense counter stain than the Papanicolaou EA50.

All CellPath Papanicolaou stains are made to very strict formulation standards. Each component must pass stringent QC standards before use.
In addition every LOT is tested internally and externally before packing and distribution. All CellPath Papanicolaou stains are manufactured with a 2-year shelf life.
